I took a drive through Highland Park Cemetery late this afternoon and
found two merlins. The first one I saw was perched in a tree behind
the oil well, where I find them every year. The second one came
swooping in from the golf course.
A busy flock of 50 juncos, along with a few tree sparrows, was
feeding in the weeds by the dumping area.
