Greetings,
My apologies to everyone, from some of the emails that I have gotten
since my post, I realized that I forgot to mention that Black and Pine
Mts. are in Eastern Kentucky, near Virginia...not in Ohio, I was just
giving a preview of the things that are most certainly to come...once it
warms up a little more. :-D
...as a continuation in that vein, I also went to Red River Gorge, in
Kentucky yesterday, and as I was walking across the Sky Bridge rock
formation (near Natural Bridge), I had Black Throated Greens calling
below me on my left and Hooded Warblers calling below me on my
right...with a N. Parula mixed into the "conversations". Almost
everywhere I went there were warblers singing out. The hard part was
finding them...they were below me 10-20 yards or so in the treetops. but
everything was starting to bud out, and all the birds blended in well.
But, it was a very noisy day. :-D
Have a great week,
Steve.
