Hey all -
Two CALIFORNIA GULLS were present at East 72nd St this
afternoon, relatively close to shore: a first-cycle
and gorgeous third-cycle bird. All of us were able to
view the first-year bird, but the near-adult bird flew
out after a stay of a minute or so. Those in
attendance included: Ethan Kistler, Jim & Bret
McCarty, Gary Meszaros, Ryan Steiner, and I.
Ethan had been present at E 72nd for several hours
prior to my arrival, and him and I came up with the
following tally:
California 2 1st & 3rd
Thayer's 2 1st
Iceland 6 Ethan reported a total of 4 1st's early on
& two adults were observed
Glaucous 4 three 1st, one ad
Good birding -
Gabe Leidy
