On Saturday February 19th, Laura Alldridge and I took a leisurely drive out
to Ottawa NWR for the auto tour.   Sightings included:

Rt. 2 & 269: Turkey Vulture, 2

East Harbor State Park – large numbers of waterfowl off the beach: 
Redhead 
Greater/Lesser Scaup
Canvasback
Ring-necked Duck
Common Goldeneye
Common Merganser
Great Black Backed Gull

East Harbor Marina:
Mute Swan, 23
Great Blue Heron
Northern Pintail
American Wigeon

Port Clinton area:
Bald Eagle,
Coopers Hawk
Sharp-shinned Hawk

Ottawa NWR:
Sandhill Crane, 2 – fly over , and then circling the fields just west of
Stange Rd
Northern Shrike, just before Crane Creek bridge
Tundra Swan
Trumpeter Swan
Cackling Geese, 2  - with Canada Geese at Crane Creek  bridge
Hooded Merganser
Common Merganser
American Tree Sparrow
Red-tailed Hawk
Northern Harrier
Bald Eagle

Magee Marsh – sunset:
Bald Eagle, 3
Northern Harrier, 4 (down from 8 in January)
Short-eared Owl, 2 (still putting on a pretty good show)
