There was another decent movement of loons and grebes today. Nearly every
one was on the water swimming to the east. Highlight of the day were two
parasitic jaegers. The first was a light phase adult the flew by heading
west. the second was a darker immature. It flew around a bit and landed on
the water and sat there for about 10 minutes before heading west also. I
also had 9 surf scoters.
Location- Lakeshore Reservation, North Perry, Lake County
Date- November 7, 2006, Time- 7:00-9:30
Weather- Cloudy/drizzle, Winds- SW 5
Temperature- 51 F, Barometer- 30.08-30.10
Humidity- 59-63, Dew point- 37-38
Waves- 1-2, Flight direction- gulls west, all others east
