Late post of remaining raptor nests in & around CVNP (03/31/07)
1. "Ghent Nest" - active - RSH - white oak.
2. "Cleve.-Mass. Nest" (new nest) - active - RTH - sycamore.
3. "Wheatley Nest" - nest was not checked last year and nest is gone due to
the fact that it was in a dead red oak, and tree has finally fallen over. RTH.
4. "Valley Bridle Trail Nest" - nest is blown out, but while on my way back to my
vehicle, spotted new nest, closer to Cuyahoga River - active - RTH - sycamore.
5. "Salt Run Nest" - nest is gone, was a RTH in a sycamore. While on my way
back to my vehicle I found a dead RTH, a male, judging by the size. I could not
determine what killed the bird.
6. "Blossom Nest" - active - RTH - Scotch pine.
7. "A.W.P.C.S. Nest" (new nest) - built this year and seen on my way to and
from work each day. Have not seen a bird in the nest yet. Tree: cottonwood.
NEST LEFT TO CHECK:
8. "Buckeye Trail Nest" - RTH - white pine.
