Hi Everyone,
We went on the guided hike along Doan Brook, run by the Nature Center at
Shaker Lakes, this afternoon. It was a very nice walk, though we only added
a few birds to this Springšs list for the area:
Killdeer
Spotted Sandpiper
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Black-Throated Green Warbler
We then dropped by Lakeview Cemetery, to see if the Common Loon was still
there; it was, in the pond behind Wade Chapel. Made us wonder whether there
is a long enough dimension of that pond for the birds to get airborne again.
We were remembering the loon that landed in the Marsh at North Chagrin a few
years ago and had to be taken out to a larger body of water....
We also had an Eastern Phoebe and an Eastern Kingbird in the other pond
nearby.
Best wishes,
Steve Cagan
