NNW winds at 15-20 mph and fronts (50% chance of rain) offer birders the opportunity to set up shop atop high bluffs (Rocky River Park, Lakewood Park, Sunset Park, etc.) to watch for gulls, jaegers, waterfowl moving ahead of, with and behind the fronts or with the sustained winds. Depending on what time the rain hits in the morning, this weather combination could produce good to excellent conditions for a small fallout or drop in of passerines at lakefront woodlots. At least one of the Selasphorus hummingbirds remains very active at the
feeders at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory today. There appears to be fewer
Ruby-throats since the cold front that came through Friday.
