I have seen a couple of emails about the international group trying to
change US bird names. I have a Ph.D. in ornithology and the right
contacts to check on this so I contacted Scott Gillihan, the Executive
Officer of the American Ornithologist's Union. He responded and told me
he would talk with the Committee on Classification and Nomenclature.
This is the society that is the official nomenclature (bird name)
society for US ornithology. So I will let you know what this group
says they plan to do about these bird name changes.
