Sunday's bird walk brought some exciting, first of the season sightings:
Chimney swifts
Orchard orioles
Baltimore oriole - 4 males, 2 of which were fighting over territory
Warbling vireos
Yellow warbler - many seen
Palm warbler - many seen
Green heron
Barn swallows
Gray catbirds
Also seen:
Yellow-rumped warblers
Easter towhee
White-throated sparrows
Rough-winged swallows
Tree swallows
Carolina wren
Tufted titmouse
Blue-gray gnatcatchers
N. mockingbird
Earlier this week:
An osprey had been spotted flying up out of the valley for three mornings in
a row.
