During this mornings survey at the Great Miami Wetland Mitigation Bank our group of about 17 hardy birders saw a dark phase Rough-legged hawk patrolling the area. The Mitigation Bank is located on Little Richmond Rd. between Union Rd. and Lutheran Church Rd. near Trotwood, OH. A Wilson’s Snipe was also spotted as well as numerous Eastern Meadowlarks, Bluebirds, and several American Kestrels. On the way home, along with Chris and Sue Zacharias, we spotted at least 7 Snow Geese (2 were blue phase) in a field of corn stubble at the corner of Dayton-Liberty Rd. and Manning Rd. in Montgomery County.
