Just south of Rt. 87 on Durst-Colebrook Road the ice has melted and the
ducks have moved in.
Northern Pintail
Eurasian Wigeon
Lesser and Greater Scaup
Ring-Necked Duck
Canvasback
Common Goldeneye
Bufflehead
Hooded Merganser
Just west of there in the Wildlife Area we saw:
Northern Shoveler
Common Merganser
I was disappointed I didn’t see the pair of Bald Eagles we saw in the
Wildlife Area a couple of weeks ago, but on the way home at the corner of
Rt. 322 and Kile Road we saw an Eagle swoop down and catch a fish and land
in a tree to feast. Great ending to the day.
