Had a big surprise as I stepped outside to head for my son's soccer game
about half an hour ago. A single crow at the peak of one our neighbor's
large trees began calling as it was perched and then in flight. It was
clearly a Fish crow based on its nasal vocalizations. The bird actually
appeared smaller than an American crow (which I see daily) as it flew to
the NE.
I live along Swan Creek and a nice bottomland woods, less than a mile east
of Oak Openings Preserve Metropark.
