Greetings all,

A weeks worth of dilligence finally paid off this
morning with an Osprey at the Paulding Reservoir this
AM (DeLorme, Page 34, between C3 and D3). The
reservoir has been utterly quiet elseiwse this week
(month) with only a lone Double-crested Cormorant a
week ago, and a Broad-winged Hawk on Tuesday and
Wednesday of this week. The Black Swamp Nature Center
(located next door to the Reservoir) may prove good
for some shorebirds as the water level is well down,
and some small mudflats have emerged. Yesterday
produced only Killdeer, but the hope is other
shorebirds will be drawn in. The ponds at BSNC have
been good for Great Blue and Green Heron, Mallard,
Wood Duck, and Killdeer this week. Today might not be
the best day to check the pond as there is some kind
of EMT workshop going on at the Nature Center building
right next to the muddy pond. Happy birding to all -
its great to be back in Ohio!

- Scott Myers, Paulding
