The white-winged crossbill at my feeder in North Perry was seen briefly
yestertday and today. After no sightings Friday through Sunday, the bird
was seen around 9:00 yesterday and around 1:00 today. Both times it came in
with house finches and both times it sayed only about 2-3 minutes. This
bird has not set up any kind of a pattern in the nearly two months that it
has been around. It never stays for more than five minutes at a time and
usually only comes to feed once a day. The only thing you can count on is
it will come in with a group of house finches.
