Today in the Guilford Lake/Salem Reservoir Area of northern Columbiana County, from 4PM to 6PM, was probably the largest numbers of each species we have ever seen at these locations. We had a total of 22 species of waterfowl plus Grebes, Mergansers, and others. This is just a highlight list of our sightings. The numbers shown are conservative. To many birds to count!
Tundra Swan 36
Trumpeter Swan 1
Mute Swan 14
Northern Pintail 220+
Canvasback 160+
Redhead 200+
Bufflehead 280+
Hooded Merganser 320+
Common Loon 26 (All in breeding plumage)
Horned Grebe 80+
Double-crested Cormorant 14 (First of the year here)
Bald Eagle 1 (Adult)
Bob and Denise Lane
Damascus,Ohio
