I was able to visit the sandspit and lagoon area today from 11:00 to 11:45 AM. The conditions were absolutely brutal. Strong winds and intermittent rain created high water at the bay to the sandspit. I walked in from the jetty; tolerating being almost unbearably wind whipped! Here is a list of the 16
species of birds seen:(of my many past visits here, this is the smallest number ever!)

Canada Goose 8
Mallard 12+
Greater Scaup 1 female
Surf Scoter 1 male
Double-crested Cormorant 250+(groups moving southwest)
Great Blue Heron 1
Great Egret 1
Turkey Vulture 5
American Coot 7
Black-bellied Plover 1
Little Gull 1
Bonaparte's Gull 65+
Ring-billed Gull 400+
Herring Gull 100+
Lesser Black-backed Gull 1
Great Black-backed Gull 30+
