Attention Ohio birders and CBC organizers,

Christmas Bird Counts begin just a few days from today. Teams will canvas
Ohio count circles for birds of all stripes, and many wetlands will be
visited. Look carefully for Rusty Blackbirds everywhere, particularly in
wooded wetlands and wetlands with woodlot margins! Rusties are often
overlooked. Rusties spend a lot of time out of sight turning leaves and
debris along the feathered edge of brushy wetlands.

CBC organizers! Talk-up the upcoming Rusty Blackbird Hotspot Blitz.
Encourage birders to check potential hotspots February 7-15.

Report rusties on eBird whenever you find them!

eBird will post observation protocols for the blitz soon.

Tom Bain
Ohio Coordinator
Rusty Blackbird Hotspot Blitz
