The first meadowlark of the year showed up this morning. It's bright
yellow stood out
against the dark, sodden background of the fields in the morning
drizzle. Not singing in
the rain.

The first woodcock. As usual, in the thicket between the fields and
the yard.

First wood ducks. Seen twice today flying around overhead

Three great blue herons.

Again, a Barred Owl in the front yard, by the street.

Also saw a Barred Owl in the Geauga Park property across the road
yesterday. I wonder how much territory a nesting pair needs?
