In Celina there are probably about 3-4 pairs, but the most regular ones are at the grain elevator on the west side of town. Also, Logan County had a pair this year about a half mile south of SR 274 on SR235. Thes birds have been present all summer and had three young in July. I have seen lately two birds there sitting on the wires along 235 in front of Indian Lake High School, or on the back stop of the softball diamond along the road. For weeks killdeer have been screaming at all hours of the day and night at my apartment building in Broadview Heights.  They seem to be congregating on the flat roof (I saw about 5 fly up there).  Can anyone give me a clue about this behavior and tell me if they usually scream at night?  You can reply privately if this seems silly.

Between the geese and the killdeer, it's pretty noisy here.
