jerry talkington found a least bittern at mentor lagoons this morning (07/22/2007). the bird was seen from the bridge along the entrance road to the parking lot and was observed feeding for and catching minnows from just above the water's edge. at least three (3) marsh wrens are singing from fragmities along the road and the annual month of july gathering of tree and bank swallows on the telephone/electric wires of the parking lot is well under way with hundreds of both species of swallow present.
