A cold, windy day around Killdeer Plains.
Had a moderate number of raptors including 1 Rough-legged Hawk, a couple
of N. Harriers, including a nice Gray Ghost,
Bald Eagles, Kestrals and R-T Hawks, plus a nice Saw Whet Owl at the Owl
Grove. Did not see the Barn Owl or Barred Owl.
A pair of male E. Towhees was also seen at the Owl Grove.
A parting consolation included a mixed flock of Horned Larks, Lapland
Longspurs and a single Snow Bunting at T42 and T112 north
of Upper Sandusky.
See you on the trails,
Chris Pierce
