Greetings,
I heard my first Whip-poor-will of the spring last night(April 13)near my
home in northwestern Hocking County. It was the earliest date since April
7. 1991 although I also heard one on April 13, 2002. Otherwise, the only
date earlier than April 7 was March 24, 1979 and my migration records go
back to 1967. If I remember correctly, that was an overflight bird on
March 24 and was sitting on a branch in Green Lawn Cemetery and was shown
to me by Todd Dawson and Mike Gibbons.
