While observing the Garganey on Sunday, I heard several folks discussing
whether it was a domestic or wild duck. Some of the characteristics that
were being hashed over were whether there were bands, and also whether the
spurs were intact (apparently these are removed from most domestics?). For
documentations purposes, I thought it pertinent to post an image that I took
clearly showing the legs. Apologies for the poor quality....he was at a
significant distance and lighting was poor.
