A quick survey of 3-Creeks MetroPark and nearby quarries along Big Walnut Creek found small pools frozen, but the larger quarries still open. Despite this, waterfowl pickings were slim, with the best birds Mute Swans (8 at Alum Creek Drive quarry, 2 at Parsons Rd quarry) and 1 N.Shoveler (Parsons Rd quarry). Landbirds were sparse, continuing a trend first noted on local CBCs weeks ago.
