GOOD NEWS: At the end of the unexpected 4+" of wet snow during the April 6-7
snowstorm here in southern Huron County, we saw 14 Chipping Sparrows at our
winter feeding station. They were accompanied by several Song Sparrows,
White-Throated and White-crowned Sparrows and an Eastern Towhee..big
sightings in a late-blooming blizzard.which has since vanished into the West
Branch of the Vermilion River which trickles through our conservation area.
Nice finish to a fine season of winter birding.
