We saw four pairs of Red-Breasted Mergansers at the northern end of Coe
Lake this afternoon. Interesting and fun to watch with their
synchronized diving. They would often come close to the eastern or
western shores--good photo opps. Also saw a Common Loon on the southern
end near the island. There could be more out of sight behind the
island. A couple of Scaups were present as well. Lot of humans looking
down at their devices in some Pokeman Go event (or whatever) and missing
the interesting birds.
