There have been Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at my feeders for the past
several weeks. The first male arrived April 31st, then on May 4th, two
males were in the feeder tree. I didn't see the males for several days, but
a female (first I had ever seen) came to the feeder and was here every day
for over a week. A male has come to the feeder yesterday and today.
This is the first time since living here for 40 some years and
feeding the birds, that Rose-breasted Grosbeaks have stayed in the vicinity
for this long. Always before, if they came at all, it was just a brief
visit.
