Afternoon skies were bright and sunny, not the timing or conditions usually associated with nighthawks. The bird appeared to be feeding and was calling regularly, one call every few seconds.41_22Jun200907:44: [log in to unmask] |

While birding around the CVNP on Sunday, June 28, I came across what would appear to be a "lost" homing pigeon near Station Road in Cuyahoga/Summit Co). There generally are not pigeons around that area, it was on the ground feeding, and not too fearful. It had a green plastic band on each leg and the one on the right leg, as I remember, had the number 82 upsidedown on it. If anyone has an interest in this bird, let me know and I can give further location details.
