Castalia pond was mostly Canada geese, with mallards, shovelers, and a couple of bufflehead.

Castalia Hatchery had four bald eagles and a small flock of yellow-rumped warblers.

Bacon Woods had a hermit thrush in the main woods and a red-shouldered hawk on a pole by the maintenance area at the top of the hill.

With warblers and thrushes here, can spring be far behind?
Don't answer that...

The rufous phase Eastern Screech Owl along the Alum Creek Bike Path in Westerville (Franklin County) that Rob Thorn first reported last week is still present at the site reported. This morning Linda and I stopped there to check on its status. It is comfortably sitting in the almost undersized cavity and providing great views.
