Hi all,

Pacific Slope/Cordilleran Flycatcher! Bill Thompson located a bird that is one of these two species on his property in Washington County. Vocalizations suggest Pacific Slope, but it's not yet conclusive (these two were split from the former Western Flycatcher. Separating them visually is often probably impossible - need to hear/record vocalizations).

Bill found the "Western" Flycatcher yesterday afternoon and got a few decent photos (they can be seen on the Facebook Birding Ohio page). It then disappeared and he wanted to refind it before putting word out. He did, just minutes ago.

Birders are welcome. The address is 330 Scotts Ridge Road, Whipple, Ohio 45788. From I-77, take exit 6/State Rte 821 North. Go 5 or 6 miles to Dalzell Road, go right, and travel 5.5 miles to Scotts Ridge Road. Please park along Scotts Ridge Rd. and walk back the driveway.

The bird is hanging around the garage and nearby wood's edge. Let's hope it remains through tomorrow, at least.

Jim
