On my way home from college this afternoon I saw a Merlin at the
intersection of Mount Hope Road and Rt 250. It was chasing a flock of
Rock Pigeons around. I am not sure what exactly it was trying to
accomplish as it would dive towards them but wouldn't ever really get
close enough to catch a bird, which would have been a sight to see
since it was noticeably smaller than them. Also noteworthy was a dark
phase Rough-legged Hawk about a half mile further up 250, also flying
right over the road.
Good Birding!
