Holiday Greetings to Everyone !
Among the interesting observations that keep coming in from our fellow
birders, I have also noticed Red-tailed hawks flying up and perching
near feeders and residences. This happened yesterday afternoon on
Yorkshire Rd. in Upper Arlington. The hawk flew across the road in front
of me and perched on a shrub beyond the window-pane where some very common
bird species were hanging out. I quickly craned my neck so I could
identify the hawk. The number of grey squirrels and
rabbits has greatly dropped in my area in the far west part of Columbus and
undoubtedly elsewhere. Now if we can only get them to feast on House
Sparrows,too !
