I observed a King Rail at the small wetlands that is northwest of Charlie's
Pond on River Road in Pickaway County. I am about to leave the site and it
has been calling almost constantly near the road. I saw it come out in the
open once and visually confirmed the species.
This location is accessible by taking Rathmell Road west from US 23 to
where it dead-ends at River Road, then turning right. You can't miss it
after that.
Good Birding,
Andy Sewell
