The first couple hours of the morning were the best. After that, things slowed down considerably. The first couple hours I had the pelican, pomarine Jaeger and Franklins gulls. After that I worked my way west to Maumee Bay. I only had one additional Franklins gull. Here are my highlights for the rest of the day:

Cedar Point Chausee- lots of gulls, almost all were ring-billed. No shorebirds and the only bird of note was a black - crowned night heron

Medusa Marsh- best bird was a western palm warbler, feeding in the gravel along the road. Hundreds of cots in the marsh and lots of gadwall.

East Harbor State Park- I had my only Franklins gull of the afternoon. Water levels were up and no shorebirds.

Port Clinton- there were a lot of geese, but all were Canadas.

Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge- there were a common moorhen, 13 sandhill cranes, and over 400 tundra swans. There was also several dunlin, a lesser yellowlegs, and a least sandpiper. Also a single tree swallow.

Metzger Marsh- nothing of note

Maumee Bay State Park- nothing of note.
