At Wellington Upground Reservoir (Lorain County,
http://www.ohiobirds.org/birdingsites/showsite.php?Site_ID=95) this
afternoon (a beautiful Christmas Day outing--surprising how many others
were doing something similar!), we found a goose that we'd appreciate
another opinion on if it remains and can be found.

It was with the many Canada Geese on the reservoir, and we thought it a
Ross's Goose, based on the head and bill. Presumably it was dark phase,
but the back didn't seem dark enough to meet the Sibley description--I
thought it more the color of a Canada's back. Also, I thought it too large
for a Ross's. Does the Ross's hybridize with Canada's? We did not think
it was a blue phase Snow Goose.

There were numerous Canada geese, coots, ruddy and ring-necked ducks there,
as well. Also there were Redheads, Canvasbacks, Gadwall, a Wigeon or two,
Pied-Billed Grebes, Buffleheads, Mallards,

I look forward to another opinion! Merry Christmas!
