Greetings,
Finally had a chance to post this. Sorry for the delay. Thanks to the keen eyes of Jason Larson, we (myself, Carrie Morrow, & John Watts) were able to view the Grandview western tanager for several minutes this morning (8:10-8:15 a.m. 12-7-06). It flew into the previously posted area near the bend where Fairview turns into Merrick, and ate honeysuckle berries for breakfast. At around 8:15 it flew off to the west, stopping in large tree for a bit. It did not vocalize while we observed it.
Good birding,
Joe Hammond
