Recorded 48 species from 8:30 - 11am. At Messner Rd. I had two great crested flycatchers and a very cooperative yellow-breasted chat that sang away for 10 minutes from atop a 30ft leafless tree while I watched through my scope. Wood thrushes and red-eyed vireos were singing in many places and I saw a white-eyed vireo well. Surprisingly, I did not see red-headed woodpeckers or prothonotary warblers there. At Clark Rd. A beautiful singing male Golden-winged Warbler was present all day today at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, Franklin County. He was on or near the Riffle Run Trail, which runs west of the Nature Center on Darby Creek Drive. Also in the group were Black-throated Blue, Nashville, Black-throated Green, Northern Parula, Ovenbird, and Yellow-rumped Warblers and a pair of Scarlet Tanagers.
