A survey of the 17-year nest site in Columbus today--well within their
traditional nesting schedule--produced no signs of yellow-crowned
night-herons today. Looks like this is it.
At Pickerington Ponds a lot of good shorebird habitat persists around
where the godwits were found yesterday, but other than a few yellowlegs
not much is around today. Ospreys are apparently going to nest again,
and the Harris's sparrow continues: the local late record for this
species is 12 May, in 1967.
