I'm doing my Waterbird survey up here in North Perry, Lake County and there
has been a great movement of waterfowl. As of 8:30, over 25,000
red-breasted mergansers. Surprisingly I have only picked 1 common goldeneye
and 3 lesser scaup out of these merganser flocks. I have had a female
plumaged KING EIDER and a female plumaged HARELEQUIN DUCK. Both of these
ducks were flying east, as has all the mergansers. Also of note was a
RED-NECKED GREBE on the lake. There have been several thousand herring and
ring-billed gulls passing by also. Not a single Bonapatrte's as of yet.
