[log in to unmask][log in to unmask], 22 Jun 2009 07:44:31 -0400443_ISO-8859-1 At 2:30 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, I was surprised to hear and then see a
nighthawk calling and circling over the Westerville Community Center at the
intersection of Cleveland Avenue and County Line Road in Westerville, OH.
Afternoon skies were bright and sunny, not the timing or conditions usually
associated with nighthawks. The bird appeared to be feeding and was calling
regularly, one call every few seconds.41_22Jun200907:44:[log in to unmask]

Thanks to several members of this list who pointed out the
beak of the unknown bird seen yesterday to eliminate Sora,
and identified it as a Virginia Rail chick.

The coloring of the tail seems to suggest that's likely, too!
