Hi all,
Thanks goes to Bill Whan for mentioning the bird database that contains so
much information for both armchair and field birders.
Here is a supplement to his list:
Although there is probably some (much?) overlap among databases, I would
like to specifically mention a couple of more. Duplication not
withstanding the following ones sometime offer alternative ways to query
the the information, for example by county.
HOL - OSU's Insect database Hymenoptera Online
http://hol.osu.edu/
and the OSU Fish Division database which is a subset? of HOL that provides
access to several broad taxa groups not previously mention in Bill's list
http://osuc.biosci.ohio-state.edu/Fishes/ OSU Fish Division Database
Enjoy!
