Between 8:12 and 8:32 PM (August 28) I counted 137 chimney swifts descending into the humble chimney of the Goss Rental Center, 210 Marietta St, near the canal and river in the southern section of downtown Zanesville. This is a very unimpressive chimney only a story tall, maybe twenty feet. Following the email from Bruce Simpson about the Connecticut warbler, Corinna and I went to Blendon Woods Metro Park (Columbus) to try to find her. After searching a while at the West blind, she was observed in the alder trees around 1:30. She was with a small flock of chickadees and titmice that were traveling along the pond shoreline between the 2 blinds.
