There's still a fair amount of open water at the south end of Mosquito L. The best viewing was from a boat ramp in the campground area on the SW shore. Of note were 2 mute swans, gadwalls, 15 Am. black ducks, buffleheads, 30 c. goldeneyes, hooded mergansers, common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, 2 great blue herons, 3 bald eagles, 15 Am. coots, and 25 herring gulls. A red-breasted nuthatch was found while searching conifer stands. Raptors seem down in the area, I saw only a couple red-tailed hawks and 1 red-shouldered hawk. Later, Craig
