What a difference a day makes!! Yesterday Paul Hurtado reported (on
Facebook) a large number of Gulls on the beach at Deer Creek State Park. He
had "500+ Boneparte's, tens of Herrings and.gobs of Ring-billed Gulls." He
also indicated there were "Flocks of Waterfowl."
Today, around noon, at the same location I found 16 Boneparte's Gulls and 11
Ring-billed Gulls, along with 9 Canada Geese and 3 Killdeer. There were
absolutely no birds on the water. Further north at Miller Park there were
140 Ring-billed Gulls, 1 Herring Gull and 5 Killdeer.
