PROGRAM LINE-UP

The Delaware County Bird Club meetings and program presentations take
place on the fourth Monday of each month, September through April, except in
November and December when they are held on alternate days to accommodate
the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Meetings are held in the lodge at
Deer Haven Preserve at 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware OH, 43015. Doors open at
the new time of 6:30 PM and programs begin at 7:00 PM and will be followed
by reports of local bird sightings and socializing. Meeting dates can also
be found on the Preservation Parks Calendar at this link:

November 14th: "Common Ground Across Diverse Groups Makes a Difference" -
Michelle Shinew, Community Service Coordinator, Friends of the Sawmill
Wetlands.

Michelle will be sharing work highlights and the current status of this
hidden flourishing jewel surrounded by a concrete jungle. The Friends have
been given top awards for their conservation work, wetlands advocacy and
educational programs. They were the 2013 Ohio Environmental Council winner
of the Conservation Achievement Award and in 2015 the Natural Resource
Defense Council selected their story to develop a highlight video about what
can be done locally with the Clean Water Rule.

After 30 years as a Corporate Human Resources Leader, Michelle has
worked to serve her community and save natural areas in their neighborhood.
She's a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Education and The Ohio
State University in Higher Education Administration/Adult Education. This
past summer she fulfilled a dream to live and work in the Tetons. It was an
opportunity to network with people doing similar work to her partners here
and an extraordinary place to

spend time in. She looks forward to sharing how she became an "accidental
environmentalist" and what she's learned.
