Greetings birders -
Just spoke with Gabe Leidy, who's birding Conneaut harbor and flats this Saturday morning, with Emil Bacik. Before 11 a.m. they report 7 species of shorebirds including 2 White-rumped Sandpipers, and at least TWO Little Gulls (an adult and a juvenile). A large flock of Snow Buntings was flying over their heads as we finished the phone call.
In Brecksville, local flocks of woodland birds are active, with dozens of Yellow-rumped Warblers mixed in with chickadee/titmouse/woodpecker flocks. A single Common Loon flew over Route 21 going NW over the town.
Very early this morning, on River Road in Huron, two CACKLING GEESE were observed within a flock of 300+ Canada Geese, on the move between surrounding plowed agricultural fields bordering the river.
cheersJen
