I wanted to tack on to Bill Heck's posting. I observed pretty much the same
species list as he from the boardwalk. I also visited the Baldridge boat
ramp and noticed the same Pectoral Sandpiper behavior (and was similarly
curious, but have not researched it yet). In that collection of birds I
also noticed one STILT SANDPIPER. Feeding over the water and perched on
distant rocky islands were 3-4 Caspian Terns and 2 smaller terns - too
distance to make out. Happy Birding!
