Observer: Paula Lozano
Lake Road & Edgewater Park, 12:10-12:35 p.m.
As I was driving east on Lake Road through Lakewood and Cleveland, I noticed
a steady stream of vultures and raptors moving in the same direction. I
stopped at the east end of the upper parking lot at Edgewater Park and
started scanning the sky, quickly stacking up double-digit numbers of Turkey
Vultures and Red-tailed Hawks. In addition there were Sharp-shinned Hawks
and American Kestrels mixed in with the others.
Lake Road & Edwards Avenue, 4:40 p.m.
Common Loon - 1, flight direction WNW
Mouth of the Rocky River, 5:00-5:30 p.m. (with Jan Ranahan)
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
Horned Grebe - 3
Double-crested Cormorant - 7; flight direction - east
Bufflehead - 6
Red-breasted Merganser - ~24
Bonaparte's Gull - ~100
