While checking the bluebird nest box trail last evening (April 20, 7:00 pm), I discovered an unexpected bird at the back of our farm. A Yellow-breasted Chat was perched in a nearby dogwood. The bird perched long enough to allow good looks at the beautiful yellow/orange throat and breast, white belly, and white "spectacles".
Our farm is located 4 miles SE of Oak Harbor in Ottawa County (NW Ohio) near the Little Portage River.
